CSC-242: Beginning Programming I: Java Core Concepts

CSS-242 is the first in a three-part series of customized Java training. The objective of CSC-242 is to introduce the java language while focusing on an object oriented thinking mindset. The vehicle for delivering interactive code will primarily be the web; however, command line java and modular development will also be a part of this class. Concepts such as test driven development, object orient programming, UML, and design patterns shall be used prominently throughout to communicate the material. This class will move students from a very procedural mindset towards the adoption of object oriented principles, such as: polymorphism, abstraction, encapsulation, and, of course, inheritance.
