CSC-2xx: Intermediate Java Programming: Web Concepts
CSS-2xx is the second in a three-part series of customized Java training. The objective of CSC-2xx is to introduce the java language on the web while focusing on an object oriented thinking mindset. The vehicle for delivering interactive code will primarily be the web; however, modular development and a strong emphasis on design patterns is critical for the course success. Concepts such as test driven development, object orient programming, UML, and design patterns shall be used prominently throughout to communicate the material. This class will move students from from the java foundation demonstrated in the first course to the world wide web.
Course Objectives:- Understand the core java technologies used on the web (JSP, Servlets, CSS & HTML).
- Develop N-Tier applications using a modular approach.
- Understand how to use Struts 2.
- Understand design pattern usages and thinking
- Understand how to think in an Object Oriented way.
- Develop a web application.
- Retrieve and present data from a database.
- Understand how to use JUnit and it's purpose in application development.
